perfect for when you are in a hurry to make a dessert to put
on the table for guests. I have never heard of a person who
did not enjoy a brownie with a scoop of ice-cream on top in
the middle of a hot summer day. They are easy enough that
any child can have a fun time learning how to bake, and this
is a good starter recipe for a young cook.

Classic Brownies
Ingredients :
1/2 cup butter
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped almonds
Directions :
Melt butter and chocolate together in a large saucepan.
Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients.
Pour into a greased 8 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees
F. for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
